Modern choirs for people who love to sing

Oxted Choir

We had a very positive reaction to last week's mass sing through, so we're going to do it again (as well as learning a very simple song!). As usual, we'll be getting together, at your place, at 7.30 pm on Thursday 18th June.

To join this week’s meeting on Thursday at 7.30 pm, click on THIS LINK. If the system asks for a meeting ID it's 826 4281 0435

If you already have Zoom installed, you can open it up, click "join meeting" and then enter the meeting ID which is 826 4281 0435 (same as above).

If you haven't already updated your Zoom software (if you were with us last week or the week before, you'lll have already done this), it will happen automatically when you join us on Thursday. It should only take a few seconds, but it might be worth logging in a minute or two early, just in cases!

This week we're going to learn a new song. As promised last week, it's a song by Queen, and, appropriately, it's called I Want to Break Free. Also, as promised, some older songs, all of which have been requested by VinChoir participants. The full list is below.

As ever, can you do some warming up before we start our session this week? So we can have just a quick warm up on the night, and then get going!

Our programme for this week as is follows:

1. Quick vocal warm up.

2. Sing through some of the songs from the list below.

3. Learn I Want to Break Free

4. Sing through the rest of the songs on the list.

All recordings of the vocal parts are available to listen to or download on the members’ page of the inChoir web-site. If you have any trouble accessing this, just let us know, and we can talk you through it.

Download the sheet music from the members’ page of the inChoir web-site, or by clicking on the appropriate title below.

VinChoir fees. Things are definitely easing, but for the moment at least, there is no chance of us getting together in the flesh any time soon. And there remains no set fee for taking part in a VinChoir session. We are aware that in the current crisis, many people will have lost some or all of their source of income, and if this is you please enjoy your session with our compliments. But if you want to make a contribution for your session, we won't say no, and invite you to use the donate button on the members’ page of the inChoir web-site. Alternatively, you can CLICK HERE. Please don't transfer to the inChoir bank account. We suggest any amount you feel comfortable with, to an absolute maximum of £7.50 (the normal weekly fee for an inChoir session). We'll use any monies we receive to cover our costs, and then split the balance between Jude, Karen and Mark.

Look forward to seeing you on Thursday

Karen, Jude and Mark
